Hi folks,

Just got my VHS down from the loft as I have sold my entire VHS collection, but have some camcorder holiday footage i'd like to put onto DVD.

My graphics card is a 8800GTS Dual ViVO.

Can I hook my VHS up to it? And record the camcorder stuff onto the PC, then to a DVD?

Do I have all the wires I need with the Graphics card? Or need to buy some?

Sorry if that sounds silly,

Help much appreciated,

Sean.

If it has video in, looks a bit like an S-Video jobby and comes with an adapter which it should have, it should be perfectly possible.

Just checked and my gfx card doesnt have ViVo :(

Why did you say it had VIVO in the first post?

What is the exact make and model of the 8800 you have?

I just assumed it had :(

Every other card i've had had ViVO but I never used it lol

It's an Albatron 8800GTS

It's got TV out, HD etc, but not ViVO.

I'll just use my Panasonic DVD Recorder linked to the VCR instead, but I just thought it was easier, and better to use the PC as could make chapters etc.

I think most cards now have VIVO, ie. my old 7800gtx which did not say VIVO anywhere on the box, could actualy record video in, allbeit with a fx5900vivo vivo cable. The best capture resolution I could get was 320x240 though :(

I've not tried with my current g80 because I got a 30quid capture card which works like a charm; recording DVD resolution in realtime.

Reminds me of my 7900GTO. I also assumed that had VIVO as "they all have it nowadays". But alas, it didn't.

I notice that the Albatron site only mentions TV out, looks like your out of luck.
