Definitely NO.

Not worth it as the 8800gts is still a fantastic card for those res you've mentioned.

Save your pennies for DX11 cards or to upgrade another component :D

I picked up a BFG 8800gts 512 oc of a mate for £40 and tbh its played everything i have tried at 1920x1200 which surprised me.

I went from a 8800GTS 512mb OC to a 4870 512mb. I only had a 19" screen that ran 1280/1024 max res. There was no noticeable difference in performance. Spend the money now on a bigger screen. Even when the DX11 cards are out they will be wasted on such a low res.

As said above - anything upto 1440x and you'd be lucky to see any real difference and even at 1920x these 8 series G9x cards can still hang in pretty well - you'd have to be playing at a minimum of 1680x to make it worth it at all.

Can't comment about lower resolutions but I just went for a 8800GTS 512 to a 4890 and @ 1920x1200 it's making a huge difference.

I picked up one of those Overclockers 24" tft's they had on sale in B grade last year for £130, i even managed to get one with the decent panels in and its been fantastic, i must admit i have not tried crysis etc but i am well happy this card it runs games fine at this rez which i never expected.
