Hi

If I can get 100 quid for my X1800XT, should I go with the sale and buy a 320MB GTS? I really dont want to pay almost 500 (400 after sell) for a GTX and PSU :( I could manage to get the 640MB version if it would be worth it? It might help at my resolution :confused:

I can't find benchmarks of X1800XT vs GTS, everyone seems to compare it to X1950s :rolleyes:

Yes or no? I would like more FPS (HDR + 4x AA at 1920x1200 is kinda pushing my X1800XT ;)), use Vista and run at 1920x1200. R6 Vegas plays like crap even at 1280x1204!

Edit : I notice theres a OCuk version for 364 and I'd be paying 264 and need PSU.... hmmmm :confused:

The x1950 PRO is about the same as the x1800XT. So when you see benchmarks for the X1950, in your mind just cross that off and think "x1800XT".

For more info, Loadsamoney mentioned that the 8800GTS stamps over his old X1800XT, don't know if that helps or not.
 
As said above, absolutely destroys my x1800 in every way, Oblivion maxed out 2xAA/16xAF HDR on 1280x1024, on my x1800 XT was around 32-40 odd (v-sync on) outdoors, 320mb GTS 1280x1024 maxed everything again, but with 16xAA/16xAF HDR on, and multisampling on 44-60fps (v-sync on), with v-sync off ive seen it go as high as 90, now that is incredible for the amount of detail, and massive amounts of AA etc... i have on. :)

Get one you will not regret it one bit, and the IQ is much better to, Nvidia have really done a job here, all those years behind ATi in the IQ stakes, and taking a bigger hit with AA etc..., but not anymore, hats off to em. :D

I replaced an x1900xt with an 8800gts and it stomps all over that too! Amazing card for the money. The only game thats caused it any probs is the "supreme commander" demo and I saw single figure framerates with that, BUT, I did have evrything maxed out in the game options, and running 4 x AA and 8 x AF. I wasn't the only one either with this situation btw, other ppl were severely low framerats too.
 
GTX is like double the price but 30% increase in performance

I have just order one aswell :) Shouldnt have realy but im sick of waiting from my x1800xt rma and having to use the pc im on now. I will be able to sell the card i get back from rma anyways so the upgrade wont cost to much.
