8800gtx and bf3 ?

Will my stock and ageing q6600 and 8800gtx manage to play the new bf3 game on low settings at 60fps ?

yeh it should
how much ram do you have and what rezz will you be playing at?
as long as you've got good ram it should be able to cope fine at low settings
oc you cpu if you can

yeh i think so, not entirly sure, and with that kind of resolution, its most likely it wont be 60fps all the time, chances are the avg will be about 45-50

I have but its in a lian li v300 so cpu cooler and heat is an issue, i did sometime ago, got it to 3.2 iirc

could i get away with a better gpu ? or would the cpu be a bottleneck ?

nooo, it wont be a bottleneck you could get a....6850? that might be a slight bottleneck but not big at all. if you get that gpu you could run it at, probobly high setting's solid 60fps

I'll be impressed if it did run well tbh - it was fairly crap to awful with my old GTX260 @ 1680x1050 all low (Rig in sig).

Abysmal tbh. - Rocks along great with my '480, shame though as bar BF3 at that Rez, the 260 was superb with everything else still.
