Hi folks, I've been dillying and dallying for a while now and I'm close to justifying to myself (and the Missus) a new GTX but I'm wondering if the additional warranty on the non OcUK branded cards is worth the extra ~£50?

I know the card hasn't been out for all that long and I've heard very little about people having problems. Can anyone put my mind at rest if I go for just the 1 year rather than the lifetime warranty?

I've never given warranty a second thought even when I bought a 7900GT. :p

Not heard of many failures on the 8800' at all, I believe they were recalled at first when a dodgy batch was released but now they are fine.

Yeah 1yr Warranty should be fine, all the cards are the same anyway as they are all made in the same factory, only differences are the warranty, what bits and bobs you get like software etc..., and the stickers on the HSF are different, and some are pre-overclocked to, but seen as they all overclock very well anyway that doesn't matter, ive never seen many GTX's fail either, don't think ive seen one come to think of it, well not since the odd one got out with the faulty resistor, very reliable they are. :)

I've never stumbled across a real-life 8800 fail either...my GTX has been a good little trooper since arriving all those months back - it is Palit branded
