8800GTX Cooler refitting

Hi All,

Just a wanting confirmation of something I believe to be right, but am not 100% about.

I have removed the cooler from my eVGA 8800 GTX for cleaning as there was a some crap inside I could shift with the vacuum, and noticed that the RAM etc is interfaced with thermal tape. Can I dump it for Artic 5 silver?

No you can't. The gap is too big.

Can I then simply replace the thermal tape with a replacement from OC?

Yeah you can do that. Just be careful to try and maintain the thickness.
