As per title just got it in. My god is this thing fast. Fired up two games which I had recently tested with the 2900.

BF2 using 8xSSAA on the 2900 was barely achieveable not very smooth anyway.

Just tried it with the GTX 100FPS almost constant (same settings). this is leaps and bounds over the 2900.

Then tried Far Cry with 8xSSAA which kills the 2900, yet again performance was ranging from 70-140FPS on the first level.

Performance like I said is just outstanding :D , going to do more comparisons soon.

Power :

IDLE: The GTX uses what seems a tad more power at idle, It seems around 10w. Coming in at 260w Idle.

LOAD: The GTX uses just over 20w Less than the 2900. Nice for my PSU anyway :p

Pictures..

2900 removed..

Woah. Just ran the CSS stress test

Everything cranked @ 1680x1050 8xSSAA

With the 2900 I got...133FPS AVG

With the GTX I just got.. 222FPS AVG

LOL

Of course it's going to be faster. A GTX goes for £299.61 while a 2900 XT goes for £234.99. It's like saying, "Wow, this 7900 is so much faster than this X1800. of course it is, they're not cards that are competing at the same price level. 2900 XT vs. 8800 GTS 640 MiB would be a more interesting comparison IMO. :)

Loving my GTX... I was well pleased last week when I installed BioShock in Vista and it runs at 1920 with highest settings.. not a glinch!! :)

What case are you using there? It looks like a Thermaltake but which one?

Just explaining my findings of course I know it's going to be faster otherwise I wouldn't have upgraded :p , Also BTW I paid £270 for my GTX almost the same price as my 2900

Doesn't change the fact the AMD is trying to beat the 8800GTX according to all benchmarks, plus fanboys in here?

And price doesn't change performance, it's ATIs top card, GTX/Ultra is Nvidias topcard, so why not match them against each other if comparing the companies?

I've had mine since the day of release.

It's been a long time since I've had the same card for this long, and I won't be upgrading for a while either. Incredible investment.

If I could level one critisism - the drivers were flakey initially, espessially the Vista sets.

Also, the noise. It's just bliss now. The fan on the 2900 span up during gaming which was fairly loud. The GTX seems nice and quiet.
