Recently bought a IP35 Pro, Q6600 and 4GB ReaperX which replaced AW9D-Max, E6600 and 2GB Corsair XMSC4.
Not a massive jump but hoping to see some improvements!

Only problem is my 8800GTX seems to disagree with the motherboard. Everytime I boot up I get no signal to the monitor.

I figured maybe ive managed to break the card somehow when swapping the parts and its currently being RMA'd. I borrowed a friends 8800GTX just to see and im getting the same problem so I think ive wasted time RMAing it.
The power supply is a Corsair HX 620W which was doing fine on my old rig so I pretty sure its not that. Tried powering with just the essentials connected and only 1 stick of ram in various slots but still no joy
Fairly sure the motherboard is ok as ive currently got a X800XT connected at the moment which is running fine.

Any thoughts/recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I have pretty much the exact same specs as you and get this same problem. However, i have two screens and this only happens on my Dell 2007WFP. I can see all the bootup text etc fine on my 17" Dell screen. The only thing i can think of is that the 17" is connected via VGA instead of DVI.

Will have a read of the abit thread though...

Thanks for the feedback guys
Ill try the second x4 PCI-e slot after work. Much rather have an 8800GTX at 4x speed than a X800XT at 16x!

Shall let you know how it goes.

Out of interest im going to get a GTX280 as soon as I can get hold of one but concerned it may have the same problem. I’ve only managed to skim through the abit thread but from what I gathered it’s a PCI-e 2.0 issue that’s a hit and miss with certain brands/models.

Its only speculation at the moment but if the GTX280 has the same problem what’s a decent board to replace the IP35?

Guess I need to get this moved to the mobo section!

Yep you will have the same problem likely but you might be lucky.

My 8800GTS G92 works fine in my ABit Ip35pro and that is a pci-e 2.0 card.

Decent board to replace the p35 one if you are getting the new card or you find the 4x slot cripples performance too much is to buy a p45 board. The slots are pci-e 2.0 on them (and early reviews show they overclock better than the p35 boards)

Tried the second port but still nothing.
Think ill wait for the GTX280 and if that has the same problem then new mobo it is!

Thanks for your help all!

I am sure on the forums at ABit people have rms'd the board and got it replaced with one that works. Might be worth a try?

Clearly my board does not agree with PCIe 2.0 cards.
Tried 2 different brands of 8800GTX and both fail to pass POST.
My replacement 8800 is due next week so fingers crossed third cards a charm!

Anyone know if X1900XT's are PCIe 2.0?
Mate thinks his missus wont miss it for an hour or so!

If that fails to work then its definatly the ports... If it does work it then it means my PC's being an ati fan b**ch!

8800 GTX is not PCIe 2.0. I have exactly the same combination (IP35 + 8800GTX) and it works perfectly.

8800 GTX is not PCIe 2.0.

Apologies, thought it was for some reason.

Now running a X1900XT which runs fine.
Plan is to wait for my 8800GTX to return and if problem persists then rma the board.

Dang means ill need to de-boltmod it... wonder what did I do with those pushpins

Cheers for the feedback all!
