8800GTX Noise levels

I currently have a HIS ATI X1900XT with the IceQ3 cooler so the card is relatively quiet.

Can anyone that had one of these cards and moved to a nvidia 8800 GTX let me know what the comparable noise levels are like ? I'm thinking of changing so I can run everything at the native res of my old Dell 2405, but noise is still quite important.

i had tht exact iceq3 his x1900xt 512mb card and i have jsutrecently upgraded to an 8800gtx. The noise levels are quieter on the gtx but the card runs a lot hotter

i dunno abt GTX but the cooler is the same as my GTS and its nice a silent well i can hear casefans and PSU fans

well i went from an overclocked x1900xt which gave me 6.9k 3dmark06 to this card which with my current overclock gives me 11.9k 3dmark06. It is an absolute beast in comparison you wont be dissapointed im sure The only thing i dont like about my upgrade is the fact that in load after an hour or two of gaming my gpu rises to 79-81 degrees i think. This greately increases the temp of the air inside my case which also affects the cooling of my processor rising it by ~10degrees. However i don't care about heat it's only numbers...

320mb 8800 gts here. Absolutely silent..can't even hear it over the PSU

Supreme commander for one hour and still cant hear the 8800GTX, amazing and I had no headphones

I dont think the fan even went any faster....
