8800GTX oc barrier ?

Oc'ing me gtx i cant seem to get it past the (speeds below) without games crashing (with 177.40).
I was wondering if lowering the core would enable a higher mem speed?
ps, i use the latest version of riva tuner and have slightly over-volted cpu and gpu, if there are any oc boffs out there help would be most appreciated.

It could be the limit, but I would expect around 660 core for your card. Maybe try re-seating the stock HSF with some aftermarket TIM?

Also, try clocking the shaders in Rivatuner.
