could you suggest me a descent oc without killing it..?

I got this card 2 months after it came out.. and today was my first attempt to oc it.

I though to start with the ultra speeds.. no probs there.

I used rivatuner to create various game profiles.
i.e. for Grid I made..
Core 620
Shader 1453 (linked)
Mem 971

temps during gaming are around 72*C

how far is it safe to push...?
is it safer to keep core and shaders linked?

tnx for any help guys..
I have killed my 6800 in the past, dont really wanna happen again

Hi

Firstly I found it best to create a fan profile of 100% fan speed, when I game I always use 100% fan, never had any heat issues or stability issues

I've found the best drivers to be the 175.19 WHQL ones, use Rivatuner v2.09

I managed 647 core, 1673 shaders and 2070 memory, found the best single change to be unlinking the shaders

Leave core and memory at stock, then unlink shaders and keep upping it and do some 3DMark06 and ATI Tray Tools artifact tester until its stable

Then do the same for the core, then memory

I'd be surprised if you cant hit 640/1600/2050 ps that means 1025 memory (2050 effective)

Good luck

I am using 175.16 WHQL so far.. as they workbetter for me than the non WHQL
havent tried the 175.19, to be honest I did see they were out until I wen't to guru3d to get rivatuner.

hmm.. lets say
core 640
shaders 1550
mem 1000
should be a good oc right...?

hmm... I'll give it a go
and yes I did make a 100% fan profile as well
for idle I have it at 70%, it drops temps 6 degrees from 60%, it just appears to be the sweet spot, with no much extra noise.

tnx for your oc info
