I've been running the GTX with the following:

Core - 620MHz
Memory - 1814MHz
Shader - 1316MHz

This is still a long way short of the 8800GTS (512).

What overclocks have you got out of yours?

Lol - Just realised you are a Chelmsford chap AmiralHuddy!

Wish I had bought a 8800GTX back when they first came out, they must have been one of the best PC purchases of the last few years in terms of longevity!

Anyway, sorry for the OT post.

/waves from Galleywood :)

You are not wrong there. Bought mine about 15 months ago now (second hand too) and it's still going strong. I've no intension of getting rid until newer cards show a dramatic improvement.

Running my 8800GT at 780/1798/2200 24/7, although not sure that's helping you although I'd say you should get around the same as they're basically the same chip aren't they? G92's?

Cheers

Most 8800GTX's are good for around 660 core at least. Ram should be good for around 1000mhz. IIRC the shader should be good for 1600.

I had 765/2000/1105 from mine with mods and waterchiller.

Why do they not clock the same as 8800GT's? I'm surprised at that...

^^^ Because they are a different chip 8800GT/GTS(512Mb)= G92, where as 8800GTS(320/640Mb)/GTX = G80

I've had problems with mine and it won't OC really at all.
- Used to run temps of high 90's/low 100's in game and would then start crashing. People on this forum and EVGA support said that was within range of acceptable temps.
- I purchased an HR-03-PLUS and my temps dropped 30+ºC's... and miraculously, the crashing stopped completely.

With that solved and my temps looking great, I went to overclock only to find that it's completely unstable at anything over stock. Next time, I'm definitely buying a pre-overclocked card.

actually cooling is a good point, my clocks are watercooled with a full cover EK block so might be slightly beyond what you can manage with air, GPUs run pretty hot with the stock coolers on.

I managed about 670 core, 1105 on the ram, with the stock cooling.

If you dont get around 660/1000 with stock cooling you have a poor clocking card or a toasty case.

Watercooling doesn't do much for the clocks at all. Maybe 10mhz on the core.

Anyone know of a GPU temp monitor that will show me legends whilst running 3Dmark06?

By the time I go into the Nvidia panel, the GPU has cooled down so I've no idea on temps whilst under load.

Just bought myself a waterbock for the GTX :)

I use Everest with the G15 LCD Display :S

EVGA Precision allegedly supports on screen readout, but I cant get ot to work :S
