8800gtx question

what sort or performance jump would you get from replacing a gts 512 with a gtx ?
would there be a noticable difference ?

Hardly any. I'd wait until next gen..

depends what resolution you game at, if you game at 1920x1200 (or around about there), it may give you some boost in performance, but for lower resolutions, there would be hardly any tbh .

could even be a drop in performance. the 512 GTS beats the GTX on quite a few games on lower resolutions

To be hionest i did exactly the same thing, replaced a BFG 8800GTS 512 OC with the OcUK GTX and actually seemed to lose performance, especially in the crysis bench
