8800GTX under performing?

Hi,

tested my 8800GTX on 3d marks 06 and got just under 9000 marks...

I am sure i could get much more from it in stock speed.

I use a E6600 processor and 2 gigs of ocz 6400 mem

The most concerning part was the CPU test just manages 1 frame per second at most.

in the graphics test they oscillate between 21 frames to around 70 ish.

Sounds about right for a stock 6600. You need to get that CPU overclocked to get another 1-2k on your 3dmark score. I get about 11k with my 6600 at 3.3ghz and 8800GTX at stock.

That's normal. It's doing the 3D mode in software. Just shows you the difference between a CPU software mode and dedicated 3D accelerator!
