I was just wondering what 'features' of the new 8800GTX are 'missing' when there not running under Vista?

i.e: What do these cards do when running in Vista/DirectX10 that they can't do when running under Windows XP/DirectX9.0?

SM4.0 and DX10, those i think are the only 2 things that windows cant do compaired to vista.

in windows xp ect ect they can do all that previous cards can do... feature wize that is becuse of direct x9 api.

On what you see, there is a big difference in how smoke and dust is render it.
The G80 and DX10 offer real time rendering of smoke, so does not look like cut when hits a surface, if you look racing games when dust touch the ground get like cut, showing the drawing line.
Also 4.0 pixel shader has an like an extra layer, like a skin.
look here the presentation of the 8800 to the public.
