Just installed Vista Pre 64-Bit and I have to say all together I'm very impressed, Ive read a lot of horror storys which (touch wood) havent come true in my case. But running 3D Mark 06 show Im getting 200 points less then my lastest score with XP Pro, Is this normal? I used to pull just over 10K with everything stock in XP
My specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Asus P5B Deluxe
Asus 8800GTS
OCZ 2GB PC6400 Ram
OCZ 600W Gamexstream PSU

3DMark 06 performance in vista is fine, even with AA enabled theres only around 50 marks in it between XP and Vista.

Problem is this doesnt reflect RL performance and game fps hits are huge compared to XP.
nVidia seriously need a kick up the ass, its almost like they have only released a driver based on its 3dmark06 score alone.

Im guessing ill be dual booting with XP for months to come untill nvidia sort this driver situation out.

I don't think its nVidia theres benchies from ATI cards too showing similiar proportional performance difference between XP and vista... currently vista blows for gaming, in most cases around 30% performance drop in open GL and 5-15% in Direct3D.

im not blaming vista, im pointing the finger at the crap nvidia driver we have been given :)
