x1900xt512mb to a 8800gtx worthwhile/possible upgrade for my system

I'm tempted to upgrade my x1900xtx 512mb to a 8800gtx. However will it firstly fit in my case (Lian Li PC-7), secondly is my PSU powerful enough? and thirdly is my Asus P5W DH Deluxe mobo ok for it?

and oh, what can of performance increase (percentage wise) could i expect. 3dmark06 currently benching at about 6.9k

your case should fit the card fine, your PSU is powerful enough and aslong as your M/B has a PCI-e 16x slot it will work
 
I got one x1900xtx 512mb here, and I cant play well C&C3 demo while even the 8800GTS 320MB eats it for breakfast. Its time to go green soon here as well :)

^^ i destroy supreme commander, not tried C&C3 tho. i could run it just fine how i am tho but i might be wrong. looks like im gojna downlaod the demo now

i run it maxed on an X800XTPE@1280x1024 with little to no problems :confused:
 
Custom settings with everything full? even full AA? and highest qualoty in CCC (dunno if it matters)?

Weird, X1900XT-X is crying at 80C temps when the heat of the battle is on :(

PS: Vista driver is really bad then :p

I have a very similar rig, P5W DH + 8800GTX, upgraded from an X1900XT.

The 8800 is about twice as powerful as the X1900XT in games, scoring over 10k in 3DMk06 with everything at stock, and ~12k overclocked.

I'm using a 500w Enermax PSU with no problems, even when o/c'd
 
nice one mate :) could you tell me a bit mroe info about your card? for example 3dmark06 results, which programs u have used to overclock? idle and load temperatures? and anythign else i could find helpful :) thanks in advance bud
