Hi a friend is selling his 8800GTX for £80 to me, i currently have a X1950xt 256mb ram and im getting a lot of tearing and that in games would moving to a new and more powerful card be enough to stop this. i dont wanna spend more on a newer card cos im replacing the whole build in 6-10months.

Yeah i'd imagine a new gpu would fix that. A 4850 would offer better performance at about the same price and use less power tho

I would definitley get a 4850 if your psu isnt all that new, good etc.

A second hand 8800 gtx really isnt worth £80, as ppl have shown you can get cards that equal or beat a 88gtx for the same cost brand new.

Tell your friend that honestly, 50-60 is fair.

as previously stated, i would pick up a 4850. No way would i pay £80 for an 8800 series card, its not worth it.

£50 for the GTX, no more. the 4850 is quicker and more power efficiant.

You get screen 'tearing'?? just turn on V-Sync and it should stop it
