Hi guys
I dont know what to do.
Iv got to sell my pc and get a gaming notebook and I have done a lot of research as to which company to buy from. After taking everything into consideration I am very tempted by this one:

Rock X770-T9300-8800 £1200 + vat

What I want to know is when is the 9800m gtx out?
Will it be worth waiting for?
Is it likely to be a lot more expensive as £1200 is about my limit.

Thanks

I bought a gaming laptop last week so I'll try to help.

The 9800m gtx is supposed to be out later this month but no UK laptop sellers (including OCUK) were able to give me a firm ETA date.

So, currently the fastest mobile GPU's are the 8800m gtx and 9800m gt. They both have the same number of shaders (96), clock speed (500 mhz) and mem bus width (256 bit), so both in theory offer the same performance.

The 9800m gtx on paper should be a few percent faster than them as it has 112 shaders instead of 96, but it might be a couple of months before they trickle through to UK laptop builders in any great volume.

If you really want a laptop now, and see something that you like at a decent price, I would just go for it now. Even if you waited for the 9800m gtx, it's successor is probably just around the corner. Laptop tech changes really quickly, so nothing you buy will stay cutting edge for more than a few months.

Hope this helps.
