Hi all,

I have received my new gaming laptop today (which is identical to the ok 770 extreme (Its a X80r from a competitor hence why I can't say the exact model) however the vista experience score is 2.7?!

The specs are:

T8100 2.1ghz
8800mgtx
2gb DDR2 memory
160gb 7200rpm HD
Vista 32bit

I notice that the drivers on the system of 167.45 or something like that. I also note that the nvidia website doesn't even list the 8800mgtx under the drivers.

So my question is what are you guys running? Also where can I get the drivers from hassle free?!

Finally when I attempted to run crysis it ran in windowed mode?! I have no idea why? Any suggestions?

Thanks all

There is a thread on the Dell 1730 that may have some info on drivers or google 8800m gtx drivers, I read one review using some Beta 174 drivers.
Crysis runs in windowed default on large res screens you have to check Full Screen in the options.

Thanks for the information however I have read that some drivers don't let the card clock up when in 3dmode.

I have just ran 3dmark06 and the score was a pathetic 3.4k which is lower than people are getting with a 8600mgt let alone a 8800mgtx.

I am stumped now.

Rivantuner is showing the clocks in 3dmode as 540/1350/800 which is up from what they should be stock yet the score is far too low.

EDIT: This is with the standard 167.43 drivers? Judging from what others have posted around the net I should be hitting 8k or so?!

EDIT 2: False alarm, turns out the display drivers hadn't been installed properly, a quick reinstall sorted that out. Now scoring 8.5k which seems in line with what others are scoring. (my slower cpu is holding me back a bit)

Daft question and I would probably find out with a bit of reasearch but its probably easier to ask:

Can I just download and install the drivers from the site (obviously uninstalling and running driver cleaner on the ones I have currently) or do I have to download the drivers and then download the modded inf file?!

Thanks

Hi mate,

yeah process is uninstall old driver:

1. download latest driver
2. download .inf
3. double click the driver it will self extract to a folder
4. copy the .inf replacing the one in the folder
5. run setup in the folder
6. Reboot

job done :)

Cheers,
Hugest
