Hi,

On my old PC (XP and 7800GTX) there was a "2D mode" where the core clock was lowered in windows. Why doesn't this happen in Vista with my Ultras? Can I lower it by half using EVGA Precision without things like Aero and video playback being affected? Also, will it lower the temps of the cards?

It should happen in Vista afaik. Since the same feature for ATi works in Vista for a fact. Yes you can use the tool to lower it yourself, create 2d/3d profiles, video won't be affected and it will lower your temps. :)

Thanks this as saved me making the thread i was thinking this myself, my 8800GTX runs pritty warm and in 2d mode i see it as a waste being clocked so high wasnt sure id down clocking ti to min riva tuner allowed would hinder the card in anyway..

:D
