At 1280x1024 and not a big gamer I'd just get the cheapest 4850 £111

I'm confused, reviews showm the 4870 to be quite abit faster than the 8800GTX, have they all redone the benchmarks or something?
Well I'd get a 4850 then but even at 1280x1024 stuff can get demanding.
The dilema is a second hand 8800GTX or a new 4870 for around the same price. Not a big gamer, but do play quite a bit of olde stuff (CS, DOD etc), res normally 1280 x 1024.
like what?
*Facepalm.*Crymark07
3DMark Vantage
3DMark06
...but not the standard 8880GTX, its the EVGA 8800GTX ACS3 KO. Now I know this faster than an ultra, but at around the £150 mark, would I be better off buying a new 4870?
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Chasser: What do you have now? I bet you don't need to upgrade at all, not for 1024.
Just a PX7800 GTX at the moment, but my next buy in a couple of months is going to be a decent widescreen monitor.
I asked, because my knowledge of current cards is limited, but I had an inkling that for £150'ish I may be able to get something new and just as capable as that 8880GTX.
Thanks all for your interest.
