I am thinking about upgrading my ram as I run dual boot (XP and Vista 64) with 4x1g ram at the moment (in sig)

Now I have 4 DDR2 ports which I could have 8g in with 4x 2g.

And I also have 2 DDR3 ports which means I could have 4g.

Which would be better?

I mainly just game on this computer

Any recommendations as well would be handy as I dont know too much about the ram side of computing.

Thanks

I would personally just stay with the DDR2, especially when you can get 4GB kits for great prices now. The 8GB will definately help speed "certain" things up. I don't think that there is really any point in DDR3 for a Core 2 system, its best left for i7 where it really makes a difference.
