All my parts have arrived, so this weekend I'm building a new Vista 64, Q6600 G0, 8GB machine.
This amount of ram is ideal for me, as I run memory-intensive simulations. I was wondering whether or not anyone on this forum was running >4GB on this board and how they're getting on.
So far 2GB seems the norm, with a few people running 4 - It'd be great to hear from anyone pushing past this. Thanks.

I build my PC this week IP35 PRO, Q6600 and 4GB RAM, 64bit Vista and it runs sweet. The 4GB really makes Vista 64 run the way it should.

wow 8gb of ram, things must be seriously smooth lol.

Whats next 8 core cpus?

mid-build at the moment. Hopefully get it all finished between tonight and tomorrow morning.

Fingers-crossed that the 8GB get picked up properly - there's a recent BIOS update that seems to help with memory matters so I'm optimistic right now.

i've got 8gb in my system spec in sig and it limits my overclocking ability

3.6 is a pretty good limit :). What cooling are you using?

I'm aiming for 3.0-3.4 GHz, with Noctua NH-U12F, the board and G0 combination seem like they should be well capable of that.

brief update: build complete, vista 64-bit ultimate installed. All 8GB recognised without any hassle.
Just updated the mobo bios from flashmenu. System's sitting there with the cpu at 33c - I can't believe these temps from a P182 with a Noctua NH-U12F.

Everything's stock at present. I've a pile of installations to do, but I'll post an update when I start to o/c.

What are you using to monitor your temps?

No problems with using 8gb, all rosy. Windows responds quickly and alt tabbing in and out of games is painless.
Use majority of the memory as a ram drive and its very quick to load games installed on the ramdisk.

While memory is cheap, everyone should take advantage.
