Asus M2n
500w PSU
3 Hard Drives (1TB, 500GB, 80,GB)
AT1 512mb GFX
Creative 24bit 5.1 Soundcard

The problem that i am having is that when i have all 8gb inserted the system crashes almost on boot. However as i start removing the Ram modules (PNY PC6400 2gb) one by one the system survives for longer until it runs stable under one 2gb stick.

Does anyone have any idea of what may be causing this? A tutor told me that it may be caused by the modules having chips on both sides. Any advice would be brilliant.

Assuming your motherboard supports 8GB then I'd prolly suggest increasing the RAM voltage a little, might resolve the problem (assuming they're rated for 1.8v then try 1.9-2.0v or thereabouts).

Most likely you need to increase the voltage a bit to your memory controller. The boards comes stock at a setting to run 2 modules. 4 modules may require a bit of extra memory controller volage. Try 1.3 steps above the stock setting. Also, make sure your memory voltage is set to the tested setting for your memory.
