Hi guys, tried to copy an 8 gb movie file to my 32gb usb stick, kept getting error code 0, so i used disk utility and converted my usb stick to mac extended journel, i then could transfer the who movie file accross, but then when i tried to play it on my Ps3 it wouldnt show up, also tried sticking it my samsung led tv and playing it via media player and that wouldnt work..

anyone know of a solution to get it to work?

thanks

I don't know my playstations or my samsung tv's but....

...it could be a few things

a) they can't read mac file systems
b) bad file
c) ps3 or tv don't have the right codecs installed to play the video file

Maybe try googling around no doubt someone might have the solution for you.

your stick was formatted FAT32. This has a maximum file limit of 4GB less 1 byte.

You subsequently formatted to mac journaled, this has a limit that does not impose on your file size, so It copied.

Your PS3 cannot read mac journaled filesystems so it doesn't work on your PS3.

Don't know what filesystems the PS3 supports, but you could always split the file. and put it on fat2

You could try formatting it to ExFAT. Have a Google for NTFS 3G for your Mac. ExFAT allows FAT32 type file system but it doesn't limit it to being 4GB.
