I'm running quite a few things but basically wondering should I upgrade another 8GB of RAM?

I have an 8GB pagefile on a different drive but noticing the computer is slower when the memory is around the 90% usage mark.

I'm using a [email protected].

I thought I used a lot...

Do you think you'll benefit from another 8GB, will you use it? With RAM so cheap, if you have the money spare, I don't personally see why not, the only thing I can say is, if you're filling all 4 slots then you may need to up the voltage slightly...

Yeah, it's a badly coded browser game called Tiberium Alliance that doesn't like prolonged use.

I also have 3 tabbed browsers on the go and a multitude of apps running as well. Nothing I should be cautious about though.

I was wondering if I add another 8GB, will the game end up eating all that too. Only one way to find out.

If the game has a memory leak then yeah it'll just keep eating away, what kinda ram usage you at with the same workload but -just- that game closed?

Ah, nothing out of the ordinary.

Around 50-60% usage at the moment with the majority of the things I run open.

Try running the game and letting it idle in the background, keeping an eye on your memory usage (the executable too if you know it). If it keeps going up and up then it's likely a memory leak and adding more RAM wouldn't help.

Probably just best to close that game when you're not playing it :)

As said, the game will eat more if you add more. Will take slightly longer to fill though :)

How much RAM shows as used isn't a very meaningful stat most of the time, as Windows will leave pretty pointless stuff in RAM while there is plenty spare, but changes behaviour as it fills up. The game will be forcing Windows to keep reducing the amount of space its using and so you'll see performance start to suffer. Not sure how to avoid this if the game isn't something you can fix - tried running it in different browsers? A quick google suggests some people seeing issues in chrome but not FF or IE, other people seeing issues in FF but not chrome or IE, other seeing issues in all browsers etc.

...though more is always nice :D
