8pack 3200 c14 sub timings

Hi all

I'm struggling with sub timings for my 8pack 3200 c14 kit and am feeling a bit out of my depth (after a disastrous attempt to get the kit running at 3600 c16).

My current sub timings are:

TRC 75
TFAW 34
TWR 24
TRDRDSCL 5
TWRWRSCL 5
TRFC 560

DRAM Calculator's safe timings are:

TRC 44
TFAW 34
TWR 12
TRDRDSCL 3
TWRWRSCL 3
TRFC 307

Some of the the jumps seem a bit steep... If anyone has tweaked theirs, it'd be really helpful to get a sanity check before I start dialling them in.

Also will I need to tweak any voltages? With the current state of the bios on my x570, I was planning on leaving everything on auto for the time being.

Plus with some AGESA updates likely to follow to hopefully improve things for the platform, any timings you settle on now may not be relevant after future BIOS updates.

I'd just find something stable at a reasonable frequency and primary timings for the moment, then wait until things settle down after some AGESA updates before spending loads of time tweaking sub-timings.
 
Thanks everyone - I'll hold off until AMD brings out a new AGESA. Presumably the next one is just the Destiny 2 fix, so the one after that?

On the plus side, the x570 is much better behaved in terms of posting with 3200 than my x370 was.
 
it isn't worth the effort going from 3200 cl14 on Ryzen to 3600 cl16. in the Division 2 benchmark test i got a frame difference of 131 to 132 which could be margin of error and playing bf5 its unnoticeable. i just switched it back to it's xmp profile. maybe some applications it might make a difference but in my case and what games I play, doesn't seem worth it.
 
ram oc is pointless 99% of the time.

It was/is good for Ryzen 1xxx becuase it was tied to the infinity fabric speed, faster ram = faster infinity fabric speed which helps the ccx's on the die communicate faster. Not sure if that is true for Ryzen 2xxx but wouldn't be suprised, it's not the case for the 3xxx Ryzens though.

Which makes it all the more odd that AMD suggested it was more effective to OC the IF and memory with a Ryzen 3000.

I'm hoping there's more mileage in boost clocks with pbo enabled once we've got a few bios updates out of the way. At the moment it seems to do nothing either way for my 3700x, and there's no mileage out of undervolting either. I'm not sure where the bottleneck is for me, but it's definitely not temps.
