8Pack I need your help please 5960X

Hi 8 Pack,

Recently my 5960X failed with multiprocessor errors - but luckily I had a performance tuning plan with Intel, and requested a replacement. When I requested the replacement I cheekily asked if they could send me a J batch cpu - thinking that this would be ignored.

Now this meant my machine would be out of commission for a week or so whilst waiting for the replacement - so I thought for once in my life I would like a guaranteed good chip, so I purchased one of your 4.7 J batch 5960X

I then received my replacement from Intel - thinking I would just sell this on the mm, but they sent me a J batch!!!!!!

J522B888 unopened retail box.

I now have a big problem I only need one chip, but which is the best yours or the Intel one? I have not tested the Intel replacement as I did not want to open it - do you know this batch - is it likely to be better or the same as your chip? I am only asking because I need to either RMA if possible your chip or sell on the Intel one. I cant afford/need both.

I would appreciate your comments/advice.

How do you know which is best without testing the Intel chip to see which is best??

If i was u just selll intel without opening then u get more for it. You know already ours is a good chip.

Thanks greatly for getting back to me - yes I think you are right there, your chip is great so far at 1.3v @4.625 with cache at 45 I think. Think I might be able to even reduce the volts slightly too. Need to have a long twiddling session lol.

What guide price do you think for the unopened Intel one £900 sound about right?

I believe the UK's distance selling regulations allow buyer to return goods within 14 days. So you might be able to return the one you bought from ocuk.

Think I will sell on the unopened Intel one without testing it, as the 8pack chip is deffo good. I will try to get back my outlay.

Don't try and sell the rma for more than you purchased the original chip for on the mm here as that would surely be deemed profiteering........

You could always try selling the ocuk one at a discount or try your luck elsewhere........
