Well i have learnt something new today from my ISP. I have been on BD's doublespeed service for a few months now but had been waiting the better part of 2 months for one of their modems as my Linksys ADSL2MUE modem was not syncing at the correct rate.

So finally got hold of BD to call me for a speedtest and from my upgrade I kept telling them that I was on the wrong ADSL profile at the exchange but they insisted not.

So come today I told the guy that both my ADSL routers were telling me that the ADSL profile was showing G992.1 and when I told him I was connected at 9.5MB he was shocked. I was under the impression the max limit of ADSL1 was 8MB but it turns out that it may be closer to 10MB rather than 8MB. So 30 seconds later and a reboot of the card I finally have an ADSL2+ profile and downloading at an average of 1.63MB/s.

Hopefully I will not have to contact BD customer services for a very long time.
