Hi Guys, after some opinions please,

One of my friends is finally looking to upgrade their trusty Core 2 E6300 and HD4870. I am a little out of touch of what's what at the moment so I am little unsure what to suggest. Anything is going to be a significant upgrade, the box is primarily used for games so GPU is main focus but I would thing an RX480 would be more than adequate. Looking for a 24" screen max and not TN. I have priced up a few things and as he's not going to be overclocking I think I can stretch the budget with a cheaper motherboard and non K CPU. Do you think £900 is enough for a full machine and screen?

Thanks :)

best i can do :|

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £904.82
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Thanks for that. Food for thought. Might be worth getting him to stick with Windows 7 for now to save £100 and Upgrade later. I think for now an SSD will give you a much larger boost than Windows 10 will.

You'd be as well looking second hand, will get a lot more bang for your buck there. Also "black friday" is coming soon, maybe hold on til then as there are usually some pretty decent deals on things like RAM/SSDs etc :)

i rember black Friday saving like 5% last year. i wouldn't wait for it. these places pride themselves on having good prices all year round.
