£900 laptop

Morning everyone.
My mum wants to replace her 12yrs old macbook pro. Budget is up to £900. She doesn't do any gaming or anything, email/word documents/video calls/and small photo stuff.
I've recommended the macbook air 13" for £899 as M1 chip should keep her going for another 10years. Any other suggestions?

Probably stick to the OS that she's used to, and that spec is usually 50-100 off at the Rainforest.

I know you wanted alternate suggestions. But I'd say the MacBook Air is a perfect choice for her.

Cheers both of you. Only other option i was thinking was ipad, but would want ipad pro for m1 chip, and works out more expensive.
My sister was 'get an hp laptop', but i want it to last, so would want to get a decent cpu etc and price escalates quickly(for any windows laptop)... Dont want a budget as they dont last and run slow sfter a few years(mine does anyway)

For the things she will use the laptop for, is it really worth spending £900.

I appreciate it would be difficult to just from apple to windows, but surely won't need a top end system for the use stated

If you go down the windows option, any Ryzen system will be fine with 16gb of RAM and an m.2 drive
