Its my bro in laws 21st birthday coming up and he is getting a PC for it so i need a few suggestions on specs.

Case + components
Large storage space
Used for gaming, modding work (mapping, models, art and voice)

no keyboard, mouse, monitor or speakers.

I'm sure people will come along with better ones but here's a spec to start you off:

Case & Power Supply - Antec Sonata III (pre-installed Earthwatts 500w psu)
Motherboard - Abit IP35
Processor - Intel e4400
RAM - 2gb Crucial Ballistix PC2-5300
Operating System - Vista home premium 32-bit
Graphics Card - BFG 8800gts 320mb OC2
Optical Drive - Samsung 20x dvd burner
Hard-drive - WD Caviar SE16 500gb sata2 X 4 (enough storage? :D )
Extra Cables - Akasa Sata2 45cm cables X 3 (I'm not sure how many cables come bundled with the motherboard)

That all comes to £902.18
 
You got him 2 terrabytes? o my... and i dont think he needs the extra cables.

Talk about specing ya tomorrow. Probly up the graphix card to a GTX BFG OC. The motherboard to the Abit Pro. Down the hard drive to 400gb. Maybe 500gb. And q6600 of corse :P

Vistra 64 bit. Dunno if you need a sound card. Could probly get 4gb of that ram too for the budget.

OO and add in a heat sink. Not sure about the psu in there. Personaly rather the Antec p182.

Infact... check my sig because my total cost is going to be around 1k anyway lol.

he hasnt said he plays games, no need for a 8800 640mb, get a 8600gts instead for about £120. thats £110 saved that wont be needed at all.
