Just installed SpeedFan ahead of possibly overclocking my CPU a little and got the following results:

What on earth is Temp3 all about?

And is it ok to overclock my CPU? (my spec is in my signature)

One of my Asus motherboards has a ridiculously high 'Temp1' I've tried touching the northbridge heatsink and it can't be anywhere near what it's claiming though (100+).

To me that's rather an indicator of the heatsink not being installed properly (ridiculously high inside temp and cool heatsink).

As above, its probably the Northbridge, and if that reading is accurate, its very high. I think I read that Gigabyte released a V2.0 of that board with a larger heatsink, but not sure about that.

Either way, get a fan on the heatsink and see what happens to the temps.

Take it the Northbridge is the thing with the ugly heatsink on? Touched it and it is very hot.

What options have I got? Get a new motherboard?

As you can see, it's peaking at a very high temperature

Maybe your board is faulty. Try contacting Gigabyte and seeing if they'll take a look at it.
Before that try directing a fan directly at it and seeing if the temps improve.

It could still be that you're just feeling 45°C though and you think it's 90°C, if the temperature sensor is faulty.

Got a fan blowing on the Northbridge and it doesn't affect it at all, so guessing it's a faulty sensor?

Been running a few tests to stress the system a bit and it's all stable. Ignoring the TMPIN2 temperature (which showed at over 100C!!), is there anything to worry about with the other temperatures? I decoded a video and ran a game on high settings to get the 'Max' results. Currently got my CPU overclocked from 2.4ghz to 2.7ghz by just changing the Bus speed and nothing else, and it all 'seems' stable atm

Does the temperature change at all or stay at that figure? If it doesnt change then I would agree a dodgy sensor, if it does then I would agree with Jokester.

PC would crash long before the NB hit 90c
