is this something to worry about?.. im going to order some new fans tonight for the case, but is this something i could RMA under?

No its perfectly normal. The temperature isn't a problem, but if you want you can increase the fan speed but that will make it more noisy.

That does sound high m8, not seen mine go above 65c, that said, someone playing Arma2 with the OcUK bunch the other night was on 112c on a 4850!!!

that was Me! lol, yea my 4850 got to around 112c playing arma, fan speed at a constant 40%, any louder and it drives me nuts, card still works perfectly and its overclocked aswell, and it has never crashed or reverted to stock speeds while gaming at that temp :D

My 4850 went as high as 106c with 100% fan playing cod4!!

Took it out and found a LOT of dust blocking the fan, removed all that and now it does not go over 85c at about 60% fan.

It's heavily dependent on case airflow and cooler design.

The reference cooler is not particularly effective at keeping overall temperatures down, but is reasonably efficient.

As such, the 4850 was designed to withstand a high core temperature.
