I currently have her at 3.9ghz 195x20 at 1.29v. She passes Folding overnight so thats stable enough for me.

1. Do I want to push the blk or the multiplier? She doesnt seem to like 200 but then I have read most chips wont do a 200 blk. Should I try to push for 21? I did a quick test at 21x195 at 1.29v but PC seemed sluggish, so presumed this would be unstable. The overclock is mainly for folding so whatever is better for folding large multiplier or higher blk? Of course I game on her but a i7 doesnt have problem with any game no matter what the clock.

2. Shes 67C on full load. Trying not to go over 70C for 24/7 folding, sensible?

3. Im on a Asus Sabertooth X58 as per sig. I only have manaualy set RAM timings and voltage, cpu voltage and multi. I have HT off. I have left qpi voltage on auto, good idea?

Cheers

Sheldon

Your mobo and cpu will handle 200 base clock easy.

Stick qpi to 1.3v, leave vcore the same and use 200 x 20, also folding is probably one of the best ways to stress test a clock, i used to fold, and had to tweak a so called 24 hour prime stable clock further as it wasn't stable for folding.

Also don't worry about the temps, you can totally go upto and over 80c 24/7 no probs, also turn HT on especially if you are folding, trust me you will get far better points, and will take far less time to crunch.

If your aiming for 4Ghz(ish) just stick the base clock to 199/200/201, leave multi at 20, leave vcore as it is, just change qpi from auto to 1.3v.

Also make sure the memory is set to the correct timings that are on the side of them, and the correct voltage.

Just spoted you are using 1333mhz memory, so with a 200 baseclock u will have to use the lowest memory multi, so it shows target memory to be 1200mhz (don't worry).

Then boot up and test with F@H, keeping an eye on the temps.

Cheers. I dont have 4ghz in mind, as good as I can get for folding? Any advice on how high I should go with V core on cpu for 24/7 folding?

I always stick memory to lowest with voltages as on chips untill I have cpu sorted.

My NB is only at 66C loaded. I presume that in CPUID that the NB is CPUTIN?

This seems the weak spot in X58 boards. I think 66C is safe though from searching on net.
