Hi guys in a couple weeks my new laptop should arrive so i have a spare machine =D. This allows me to do some much needed maintenance on my pc.

I'm looking to overclock the processor (which is fine I've done my research and there's a bizzilion and one threads). but i would like some help with a cpu fan, i'm currently using stock and it sits around 69c average with crappy airflow :(.

So i'm looking to upgrade the heatsink/fan. its I7 920 revision c-/c1.

Any help much appreciated.

What RAM do you currently have? and also what case do you have? does the case have good airflow? budget for this heatsink?

What sort of budget have you. And are you using normal sized ram, or tall sticks with heatfins/pipes?

as for the case i can't find my original order from ocuk :(, and no make or model that i can see. its relatively large has room spare with my 4870 in it. 1/2 120mm fan slots and couple 80mm

room above standard heatsink roughly 4-5 inches. budget sub £60 (no idea what heatsinks cost) if you find a good one just post it and i will consider it.

Thermalright venomous x is a great choice, youll have no issues with the corsair xms ram. Though the supplied fans on the vx arent great for an oc'd i7. You could buy the cooler itself then add fan/s of your choice.
