920 vs 940

Think of it more like 8 threads running 300Mhz slower. Would you notice 10% on a single thread? say browsing. I doubt that. Its going to depend on what you are doing.

A mere 300Mhz overclock is so tiny for these it's just silly.

well ill be doing coding, browsing, streaming videos and downloading not too much gaming, given this which CPU would u get?
 
I just bought a 920 and it went straight to 3.2Ghz first time messing in the Bios, haven't even tried to go faster yet, but I expect quite a bit more with a decent cooler
 
The 940 also has a higher internal bandwidth, I'm not sure how much difference it would make under normal everyday usage though.
