9300 vs 9450 for non OC gaming

Will the cache make a significant difference for some looking to run these chips at stock purely for gaming?

Is it something that needs to be tested or are views regarding a CPU usage of cache the same across all cpus?

My knowledge is very limited so apologies if this is a really silly question.

It would need to be tested, but cache is generally only a problem if a chip has very very little of it, i'm sure the Q9300 will be a fine chip.
Cache is usually a big factor in media operations.

I very much doubt it will be worth the extra 40 odd £ to get a 9450 for how this build will be used.

Then don't, the chips will be horribly overpriced no matter how you look at it, at least for the first 2-3 weeks

Are you gonna overclock or not?

I wont be clocking it, i can get a q9300 for 180£ or a q9450 for 220£ from a store near me.

I'm also in no rush and can easily wait a month.

Why no overclocking just out of interest?

Its just for a close friend that insists on running everything vanilla. I've currently got an 8400 with a modest clock which is doing the business for me at the moment.

Why not just a stock Q6600?

Yea thats definatly a consideration at the moment. I'd really like to see some q9450 vs 9300
