I'm going to be buying a pc shortly and need to finalise what I want and need. Its for gaming and general use. I will mostly be playing world of tanks, skyrim and bf3.

I dont have the technical skills to assemble it myself so I'm very tempted by the
custom bundles.

Currently have this in mind. (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/syscon_int.php?prodid=FS-291-OK)

Just wondering if its necessary to get the 16bg of ram and I don't know which motherboard or processor to pick from. Any info on which ones I should pick from would be really helpful.

You don't need 16gb of RAM for gaming, 8 will be plenty.
The i5 3570k is exactly what you need.
The motherboard is basic, but will work fine for what you need, if you think your going to add another graphics card down the line, then you will need the z77x-d3h.
If i was you i'd take the plunge and build it yourself, you wont regret it.
