Hi all,

Got my overclock ready setup running and currently running prime on a 3.6ghz overclock (4 workers standard stress test - 1st ever stable OC for me I hope!). Seems very stable so far at 1.344v though this seems to be fluctuating slightly  and currently only at a steady 44c! (hopefully be ok on prime for a few hours!)

Assuming this works I want to try raising the CPU/NB frequency for gaming performance boost but my mobo bios doesn't show the frequency imcrements only a multiplier value...?

What is the stock CPU/NB frequency and multiplier for these chips?

I have googled but there is so much information on these chips out there I can't see the wood for the trees. If anyone has a link to the complete rundown of stock settings/frequencies for the 955 that would also be much appreciated!

Many thanks and I look forward to calling myself a true member of this OC forum shortly :D

Install overdrive, that will give you the nb vid (1.1 here).

I've got overdrive but I'm not using it. I don't know what nb vid is... isn't that a voltage thing?

I'm just after the cpu/nb multiplier and corresponding frequency increments: What it is that I would actually be multiplying?

Thanks both - exactly what I was after!

Hopefully I can get that up to 2600mhz on a multi of x13 and get is stable with some voltage tweaking. Then might aim for 3.8ghz core speed depending on temps!

I will do as you say. (My plans did involve some staggering and stability testing though)

Last night I ran prime95 for an hour and a half (don't like leaving on overnight) and ran a bit of furmark and then 3dmark11 simultaneously w/prime to get some hot air moving through the case and it was perfectly stable (I know this doesn't prove one way or another I'm just stating it is looking good so far). I'm using ProbeII to monitor temps at the moment - core temp didn't go above 45c which is less than I was getting under heavy load at stock with my previous Arctic Cooling Freezer 7.
