95c!! Asus formula and Q6600

Just got a Q6600 95w SLACR and a new Asus formula maximus with 0907.

Overclocked it to 3.2 gig and my temps are sky high!

Idle is between 44c and 46c, and full load shoots right upto 89c - 95c

I'm using the nvidia/zalman tritium cooler on full pelt all the time.

cpu has 1.45volts to keep it stable at that speed.

Do i need a new cooler, can these temps be right?

What are you using to measure the temps?

That can't be right. Get frying pan and start cooking fry ups. Seriously are you using coretemp? If so reseat cooler and make sure you have good contact

If they were real.. your CPU would have gone by now.. o.O

I have the same CPU and board as you with a TRU-120 Extreme and my idle temps are.. about 30-35 degrees.

your vcore is high for that overclock, mine only need that voltage for over 3.7

Right,

Reseated the heatsink and put some fresh compound on and max temp has dropped to 69c and 75c

Still seems high???

Using core temp 0.97.1 to measure.

My cpu seems lame as it needs very high volts to get anywhere

it's possible the readings are wrong. When i got my maximus it was reporting a wrong CPU temp then i flashed to 907 and it fixed it, but my temp was not that high.
