Last few times ive been to fill up at our local garage ive noticed they are doing both 95 and 97RON fuel. Im in the red now so filling up tomorrow, is it worth the extra for the 97 RON in a 1.4 306, or should i just save my cash?

save the cash, afaik it does nothing for bog standard engines but can make a difference in highly tuned engines

Save your cash :)

Most cars have no requirment for it at all :)

I always try to use it, or find low sulphor 95ron to put in mine, but thats a 3 litre v8!!

Some people swear by the higher rated juice, I notice no difference in a 2.2 406 coop.

Although if it's only a couple of pence a litre more, sometimes I just think 'sod it' and fill up with super anyway.

I swear it makes my car run slightly smoother.

I always fill up with V-Power in my Mark 6 1.4 Fiesta, while i may get no performance boost, it keeps my engine clean and gives me a few more MPG.

I also noticed the engine doesn't sound as harsh, sounds smoother so to speak.

It is true that it might 'keep your engine cleaner' if you use it 'regularly' but a single splash and dash of V-power in your car is unlikely to yield and performance/mpg advantage and tbh if you use it for one tank its not going to make it cleaner by much either :D

In my old Mk2 Golf GTI it used to make a hell of a difference and made the car much better to drive. If I stick it in my VR6 or G60 though, there is no difference at all, although I have had the VR6 measured with or without the stuff on the rollers, and there was a 2 bhp increase - not worth worrying about really though is it, cause you will never feel that. :)

Unless your car has a knock sensor, save your cash. Although there is a case for using V-power just for its cleaning properties.
