9600 in 965P DS3P

I do love the clash with nVidia's naming with ATi's old cards as I initially interpreted that as how well a Radeon 9600 AGP would fit in a PCI-E slot..

It should work fine despite the fact that the GeForce 9600GT is PCI-E 2.0. Realistically there's no reason for there to be a significant performance hit, if at all. It's completely compatible with the 965P DS3P so no problems there.

lol i totally forgot there was a ATI 9600 as ive never really had a ATI its been nvidia in my comps for years for some reason only reason i asked that question was cause if u look at wikipedia for pci-e u find this

PCIe 2.0 is backward and forward compatible with PCIe v1.x. Graphic cards and motherboards designed for v2.0 will be able to work with v1.1 and v1.0, and vice versa. In some rare cases it is possible that a PCI-E 2.0 card will not work correctly on a PCI-E 1.0a slot. This is only limited to certain video cards.

so obviously that made me wonder so i thought id ask the people i consider bigger experts than me lol.

And certain motherboards! Some motherboards with a VIA chipset - I think it was the VIA K8M890 chipset - don't seem to work with PCI-E 2 cards properly.
