Not sure if anyone will know the answer but thought it was worth a shot, I have an old 9600pro running in my media centre and it has the most annoying little fan. As it never gets used for gamming or anything other than MCE do people rekon I'd get away with diconecting the fan or would it overheat and die?

Well the fan is there for a reason in the first place and you've now got it in a smaller case. I'd leave it on till you can find a quieter solution. There will be one out there.
