hi.
Ive recently got a gtx260 for my gaming rig, so i built a media rig for my living room.
e5200, 2gb corsair, 9600gt, blueray etc

Going through my panasonic 37" LCD (think its an lzd85)

Should this be capable of 1080p? as my laptop which has a 7600 (i think) easily manages 1080p.

hi, i was thinking more along the lines of resolution.
As when watching HD films, i get letterboxing at the top and bottom.

it will only let me have 1365x768 or 1600x900.
if i try 1280x720 or 1920x1080 it wont work??.. any ideas?

You will get letterboxing as you haven't got a 21:9 ratio tv like this ;) Your 9600GT should work fine however and you should be able to choose whatever res you want up to your tv's native res of 1920x1080

ah yes, i would imagine a small ammount of letterboxing.
but when i play the divx/mpeg4/mkv through my hp laptop and the same Tv, i get a lot less letterboxing.

it allows me to select whatever resolution i want. but the only one which works is 1365x768.
the rest just show a blank screen then revert back to the previous settings.

I believe this Tv is capable of 4:3/ 16:9 and 16:10 if thats any help?
