9600GT recalled, 9800X2 delayed

Read somewhere that nv pushed back the date to the 28th of Feb due to a Voltage ofset on the 9600gt.

Wonder when you'll get to see the next gens now then, not looking good for them if their having to push their old 2006 cards back even more. :D

While you're quite correct not every single thread with the mention of the 9 series requires you to keep saying it. We know it's still 8800 level tech re-branded, if it performs well and offers good value for now it doesn't really matter.

It's not really any different to the 7900 and 7950 cards being released based on the 7800 series... apart from being really confusing to the casual observer.
 
True, but i dont think the 79 series came 2x years after the 78's though. :D

The 7800's were released on 21st June 2005, the 8800's were released on 14th November 2006, thats only 15 months after, and inbetween that was the 7900's, so the 9800's are donkeys old as they should have been out long before now, they should have been out last year sometime, but thanks to AMD Nvidia's pushing eveything way back, its crap, now we have cards that should have been out more than 6 months ago still not out, and now pushed even further back, and there was everyone complaining about AMD's 2900's only being 6 months late, anyone like to hazzard a guess how late the 9800's are, heres a clue, its longer than 6 months :p, what a ******* ****take.

That, and, the 7800's and 7900's were still a part of the 'container' 7000 series, whereas the 9800 GTX assumes itself to be a part of an entirely new '9000' series.
 
Dunno if thats a good thing to see Nvidia acting like AMD ;)

Still they shoulda just scraped these Dual cards go for the real thing especially considering Nvidias 8 series is old tech anyhow ;)

They had enough time not like their 8800 series was bad or a let down like ATI's 2900 was.
If their next gen isn't multi gpu then i wonder if heat and power is a problem aswell?.
 
Sorry, why do NVidia have to rush out next gen cards when they clearly dominate the market in single GPU performance? 18months at the top for the 8800GTX shows how far ATI have fallen since the glory days of the 97 and 9800's. Whilst ATI are frantically trying to catch up, NVidia can (and should) take time to develop the next killer product. Why release a buggy product early when there is no immediate need?

..and when do the next gen ATI cards arrive?
