9600GT

I recently bought an xVISION 9600GT from scan

I could have bought the sonic version but didn't. now when I try to overclock the memory from 1800Mhz to 2000Mhz it crashes everytime

the sonic versions are clocked at 2000Mhz and are exactly the same card

please help

First off remove the competitor name

Not all cards will overclock as well - the sonic version are probably quality binned for ones that will clock higher whereas the regular ones you get whatever comes.

Use something like ATI Tool and see how far the memory will overclock - you should be able to get around 1950 atleast - a lot of those G92/94 parts 8800GT/8800GS/9600GT will only reach around 1900-2000 ish on the memory.

Yep those cards are cherry-picked to be the best clockers and sold at a premium so you either get lucky or you don't.

if you want the overclock sometimes you have to pay for it as not all cards can manage them speeds
