Hi Guys,

I've just recently upgraded to a 9600x and i just wanted to know if i should be concerned about temps

Running a 1hr AIDA64 stress test i encountered the following temps

CPU (Tctl/Tdie): 88.5c Max
CPU Die (average): 85.1c Max
CPU CCD1 (Tdie): 95.0c Max (though this was a spike, average was ~85c)

during the stress test the CPU did not thermal throttle at these temps but they seem awfully high, should i be concerned.

Thanks

For stock running, no.

If the typical load that you have is nothing like that, then there's no concern.

If you want to read/watch more:

I have a 9600x running at stock and don't get anywhere near those temps. Highest I've seen when running occt stress test was 60 something (65 maybe). Day to day I don't think it goes much above 55.
The cooler is a thermalright 120 assassin SE.
I'll run some tests again and confirm the temps.

I'd definitely be interested in these as I am running a Thermalright Assassin X120R SE cooler and my idle temps sit around early 60s.

My case has decent airflow and my GPU never experiences temperature issues *edit*, or atleast i thought it didn't.

Might repaste the CPU and make sure that it's sitting correctly.

check your mounting hardware hasn't come loose, mine had on an am4 standard mount, the plastic that is screwed to the board, 3 out of 4 screws were loose, id remounted my aio twice, gave up ordered a triple rad aio, discover original mounts were loose when i went to use the new aio

Yea - during a <1hr game of Poppy Playtime (hardly the most demanding of games) the temperature peaked as follows

CPU (Tctl/Tdie): 86.8c
CPU Die (average): 84.7c
CPU CCD1 (Tdie): 83.8c

My GPU saw temps of:

GPU: 73.5c
GPU Hot Spot: 89.3c

starting to think those GPU temps are a little high too so may be a wider air flow issue.

max temps I've seen on my system

Playing Deus Ex Mankind Divided for a few hoursripping blurays for many hoursCinebench 2024 multicore (10 min test)
CPU (Tctl/Tdie)70.163.261.8
CPU Die (average)67.359.857.9
CPU CCD1 (Tdie)71.171.860.2
