Hi Guys

One of my friends has just fitted my AMD 960T and corsair H100 to my rig:

GTX 460 sli
ASUS M4N98TD EVO
Corsair dominator RAM

I've got to pick this up later today but he's text me to say "CPU isnt reporting temps properly I believe as its around 60-70. Played Witcher 2 on your PC all on high for 30 mins and the temp only went up 2-3 degrees. So despite the CPU being at high temp I believe it should be fine, it just needs 'burn in time' with the new heatsink and thermal paste"

Now I'm wondering if there is any other programmes I can use to verify the temps as I thought 60-70 could cause real problems to the chip? Does this wound like the new bits aren't seated right or possibly a problem on the H100 or CPU?

Any help or suggestions would be welcome

Ahhh as suspected the only thing wrong was the H100 not being fully seated on the CPU - d'oh.

Anyway all up and running and really happy :D

he may have plugged the H100 in wrong. the lead from the waterblock needs full power all the time (so wants to be in a slot called SYS_FAN or PWR_FAN or something) whereas the fans on the radiator want to be plugged into a variable power supply on the motherboard (usually called CPU_FAN)

Thanks for the tip - I'll double check when I get home tonight but everything looks okay so far - idle temps in the low 20's (but then again it is freezing everywhere lol)
